Delete your Vastra account

You can ask us to delete your Vastra account at any time. Fill in the form below, or write to us at the address at the foot of this page. You do not need to be signed in, and you do not need the app.

What gets deleted

• Your sign-in account: your name, your email address, your stored password hash and your sign-in history.
• Your access to every company the account could open. The app signs out and cannot sign in again.
• Any messages you sent us through the website, once the matter they concern is closed.

What has to be kept, and why

Vastra holds books of account. Indian tax law requires invoices, GST records and ledgers to be kept for a set period - at present at least six years from the end of the financial year they belong to - and that duty falls on the business that issued them. So:

• Invoices, GST records and ledgers stay until that period ends. They stay as the business records of your shop, not as anything about you personally.
• If you are the owner of a shop that other people also use, deleting your own sign-in does not close the shop. Tell us in the form if you want the whole company closed, and we will confirm what that means before doing it.
• Records we need to show what was paid for and when - your subscription invoices - stay for the same tax period.

Once the retention period ends, what is left is deleted too.

How long it takes

We answer within 7 days and complete the deletion within 30 days of confirming it is really you asking. We will write to the email address on the account before anything is deleted - this is why we cannot simply delete on a form post: it would let anyone who knows your email close your shop.

Changed your mind?

Tell us before the 30 days are up and we will stop. After the deletion is done it cannot be undone.
